IKEA'S 50th U.S. store is open in Norfolk, VA (and they have catering)

IKEA is officially in Hampton Roads, and unless you are someone whose work commute has become twice as long due to the increased traffic on Northampton blvd., I’m sure you are excited.

Fun Fact about me: I’ve never been to IKEA. I assumed that they only sold meatballs and furniture that was hard to put together, so I didn’t find a need to drive 2 hours to visit one. I’m glad that I had those facts wrong. I was so excited to have the opportunity to preview the store prior to its opening, and was even more excited about the Smorgasbord breakfast they would be having.

Fun Fact about the store: Yes, they have meatballs, but they also cater and have private food related events throughout the year. The breakfast included items from their restaurant, but the majority of it was from the catering menu. Check it out below and let me know what you would get.

I had a fantastic morning in the store and my list of things that I dont need but really want is pretty massive. I went back to the store last weekend and despite it being a little over-crowded for my anxiety level, I was impressed with how things were organized and the associates who were available to help. If you’ve been to the new store, tell me how it was
