Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized by your own inability to be good at sports? Don’t worry, we are not alone; there is a place for people like us, and it’s called TopGolf. Here we can get together to eat great food, have a few drinks and then try a few games of golf.
Non Athletes like us would enjoy their signature game where the goal is to hit a ball into any target (the grass counts in my opinion…hitting the ball is my definition of success). If you are someone who is good at sports then Quick 9 and TopScore would be the games for you. These are about precision and accuracy, where you get a higher number of points the further out you hit the ball. Regardless of which group you fall into, TopGolf is a win-win situation. There is nothing better than food, drinks and fun times in the company of friends.
On the luckiest weekend of the year (St. Patrick’s Day), myself and other Hampton Roads Bloggers went to Top Golf in Virginia Beach to play some games, get private golf lessons from one of TopGolf’s coaches and try out their new food menu.
This is not your typical bowling alley/rolling skating rink food. Every venue has an accomplished Executive Chef and a menu that features twists on classic American food using high quality ingredients. Take a look at what we had.

I have been to top golf several times and only ever get drinks, but that will definitely be changing in the future. The food was flavorful and the portion sizes are large enough to split between 3-4 people. If you’ve never been, now is the best time to go. You can currently by a Summer Fun Pass to enjoy unlimited Topgolf game play for you and up to 5 guests per visit - from Memorial Day to Labor Day for $149.
Let me know if you’re planning on going.
