A Cheesesteak from The Grill at Great Bridge: Southern Grit Magazine Feature

The last time I had a cheesesteak was in Philadelphia when an area native took me to her favorite spot and she said it was one of the best. An edible masterpiece came out on toasted bread filled with tender meat, peppers, onions, and provolone cheese. I have been searching  to find a place in Hampton Roads that was serving anything that halfway resembled what I had in Philly. But the day came when I was scrolling through Instagram and saw The Grill at Great Bridge

Smoking the Competition: Southern Grit Magazine BBQ Wars

Although temps were in the 100's, I trekked over to Wasserhund Brewing Company in Virginia Beach for the 1st (and hopefully annual) BBQ Wars competition put on by Southern Grit Magazine.  4 Chefs from Restaurants and Food Trucks around Hampton Roads came together and presented a plate of their best BBQ, while the general public voted for who they thought was the best.
